The ADDIE Model

​To ensure that the most effective and relevant solution is developed, we align with the proven instructional systems design framework known as ADDIE.  ​ADDIE is a traditional model for developing curriculum. Despite being nearly 40 years old, the methodology has not fallen out of use and remains the leading e-Learning methodology today.  

​The Traditional 5-Step Process

Five main steps of a project are distinguished in the ADDIE Model:
  • Analysis;
  • Design;
  • Development;
  • Implementation;
  • Evaluation.
Each stage provides its own set of actions and its intermediate results. The beginning of each next stage is based on the results of the previous one.

Instructional Design

Solid Instructional design is the foundation for any successful transfer of knowledge to take place..  Understanding your organization's internal and external customers, business processes and a method for uncovering what information will be most relevant in helping your "learners" become optimal performers are the keys to our success.  When we are engaged to "develop training", we will start with an Action Mapping assessment or analysis. Action Mapping is truly our secret sauce; it's a cool streamlined process to design training in the business world.

Our Process

  • Analysis - At Business Impact Training Solutions, we analyze the difference between current observable behaviors and those behaviors you would observe in an employee who is specifically aligned with top level business objectives!  Using the secret sauce  inherent in the Action Mapping process, we pinpoint the difference, and more importantly, "the why". We know performance "gaps" fall into one of four categories:  the culture, the lack of skills, the lack of knowledge, or the lack of motivation.
  • Design - At Business Impact Training Solutions our design will reflect the “why” around the “gap”.  For example, the performance gap could exist due to organizational misalignment, too many keystrokes for a single software operation, a burdensome process, hard-to-find resources, limited preparation for the role, or one of many other obstacles to optimal performance!  Often the gap is NOT fixed by designing a new training program.  In fact, sometimes it's not a training fix at all!
  • Implementation - At Business Impact Training Solutions  we will recommend the most cost-effective approach.  Some clients find they can implement our solutions on their own. Others take a hybrid approach engaging us to get them kicked off, and then rolling out the solution on their own to the rest of their organization. We are all about the implementation strategy that balances economy with ensuring our clients gain the results they are looking for.
  • Development - At Business Impact Training Solutions we develop the “solution” to give you the greatest impact in the shortest period.  You can translate that to big results at a fraction of the cost of traditional training solutions! Why design a comprehensive new program if we could “dust off” and re-energize that great training you bought 2 years ago which was never fully adopted or reinforced?  Our solutions could include establishing a coaching cadence and regular feedback loop , developing scenarios and role plays, or maybe just creating a job aid. 
  • Evaluation - At Business Impact Training Solutions  we take evaluation very seriously. We work with the end in mind.  In fact, we do not start the ANALYZE step until we have agreed on a specific, measurable goal that the client wants to achieve. We use a proven formula to structure the goal, which sounds like this: “ A measure we already use will increase/decrease ____% by _____date as people in a specific group DO something.  ​
